Michael, on the other hand, was filled with excitement and secret joy.

Isabella was pregnant.

It was their child.

Isabella took her phone back from Michael and saw a long list of missed calls, which scared her into quickly calling back.

Atticus answered Isabella's call, extremely anxious, "Isabella, where are you? Olivia and I have been looking for you for a long time. Did something happen to you?"

"Atticus, I'm fine. I'm with Michael right now."

The enticing smell of food wafted in from outside. Isabella opened the door and saw Michael, wearing a cartoon apron, bringing out dish after dish.

Seeing her awake, he reminded her to wash her hands for dinner.

Then he went back to the kitchen to continue working.

After dinner, Michael took care of all the housework and told her to go back to the room to take a bath and sleep.

Isabella didn't argue with him. After sleeping all afternoon, she felt even more tired.

She nodded, went back to the room, took a hot bath, changed into new pajamas, and lay on the soft bed, thinking about going back early the next morning.

Knowing she was pregnant, she felt more relaxed.

She didn't have to worry about having sex with Michael or initiating anything, nor did she have to worry about what happened in the car that night happening again.

She knew very well that this child was important to both her and Michael.

Even if their thoughts were different, he wouldn't do anything to her now.

So, her only thought now was to have a good talk with Michael about the child's custody.

But she waited in bed until very late, and Michael still didn't come.

She almost fell asleep waiting.

Michael sighed, got up from the sofa, and went to the guest room next door.

Isabella heard footsteps outside and thought Michael was coming in. She sat up, but the sounds didn't seem right.

"Wait!"

But seeing that Michael had already opened the guest room door, she decided to go in and talk things out with him.
