"You're not a Rogue!" Zachary snaps.
His eyes narrow at Isabella. "All those questions you asked Athena." Alexander frowns. "You weren't asking about her. You were asking for yourself, weren't you?"
She presses her lips into a thin line.
"You wanted to know what it felt like." He continues. "You wanted to know how to control it. You wanted to know if you were feeling the same thing she felt."
She just shrugs. Giving no clear answer.
"What does your Wolf think?" I ask.
She snorts at me. "Midnight hasn't spoken since Julian's machines shut down. But I know she hates me. She hates you." She points at Alexander, then her mate. "And you."
Her hand moves to the mark on her neck. She faces Zachary. "I thought this was forever. But you care more about your friend than me."
"I never said that. It is forever." Zachary mutters. "You are my mate. I just asked you to help her. She has been nothing but kind to you!"
"Until she swooped in and tried to take my place."
"What are you talking about, Isabella?" Alexander demands. "Have you become that self-centered?"
"A brat?" She laughs, but her eyes stay cold.
"That's how you're acting." Alexander growls. "You're not the sister I raised. You're turning out exactly like Julian!"
She smiles smugly. "We are twins after all."
"Isabella." Zachary sighs.
She puts her hands up. Shakes her head. "That's why you're here now, isn't it? To force me to help the dying Lycan while I deal with my own problems."
"Her name is Brianna. Don't bullshit me. I know you liked her. So help her."
"No."
"You made an oath." Alexander snaps. "You promised to help look after our pack."
"I did."
"If you're saying Brianna isn't part of this pack, then you're saying I'm not either!" Zachary frowns.
"Zachary is the Beta here." Alexander reminds Isabella. Though I'm starting to think nothing is getting through to her. She's too far gone. Trapped in her own chaotic mind.
"And he couldn't even be bothered to take an oath to link you all." She half-laughs, amused. "That suggests he doesn't really want to be here. Or maybe he just favors his own kind over us."
Zachary takes a step back. Frustration and confusion cloud his face.
"Alexander, I need to speak to you." I mutter.
He glances at me. Nods in acknowledgement.
"You can say what you need to say right here, Lucas." Isabella snarls.
"Fine!" I smile back at her. Turn to Alexander. "Some promises just can't be kept."
"What kind of cryptic message is that?" Isabella demands.
"It's not cryptic. Alexander understands exactly what I'm saying."
She glares at me. All her anger is aimed my way. But she stays completely still.
Silence falls between the four of us.
The other men don't know what to say to Isabella. She seems to be waiting for us to speak.
"So what's your plan, Isabella?" I ask.
"Excuse me?" That wasn't the question she expected.
"This. It's part of your plan, right? What do you hope to achieve? Do you want Zachary to reject you? Do you plan on killing everyone for some revenge plot for your brother? What is it that you, Isabella Black, want?"
"I don't know, Lucas. Maybe I want you to tell everyone how you're mated to a Lycan!" She folds her arms across her chest. Looks pleased with herself.
Alexander and Zachary both turn to stare at me.
"Is this how it's going to go? You're going to start telling lies about people?"
