Anna Ross felt intense disgust toward Vincent Lombardi.
His sudden pull made her skin crawl.
"Let go! I'll call the police for harassment!"
The man grinned shamelessly, completely unfazed.
"I suddenly want to see your mother."
A chill ran down Anna's spine. She struggled desperately to break free.
The driver watched through the rearview mirror, confused.
With one hand trapped, she fumbled for the door release with the other.
Escape was her top priority.
Nearby, Noah Watson walked while reporting last month's performance to Adrian Sinclair.
His peripheral vision caught the shaking car. He inwardly sighed.
Some people had no shame these days.
He shook his head. None of his business. Employees should mind their own work.
Adrian was about to pass by when a familiar profile caught his eye.
It looked like her.
Noah pulled out a new folder to speak, but his boss vanished.
He looked up, stunned.
His boss was striding toward that shaking car.
Noah gaped. Since when was his boss into this?
Inside the car, Anna flailed wildly.
Suddenly, the restraining force vanished.
Vincent Lombardi howled in pain, clutching his scalp.
"Who dares pull my hair!?"
"Who are you calling 'old man'?"
Adrian yanked him out of the car and slammed him onto the pavement.
He glared down coldly.
It was that man from back then.

"Oh! I recognize you—Anna's lover!"
He clicked his tongue, looking Adrian up and down. "Well dressed, aren't we?"
Anna rushed out of the car, shouting sharply, "Shut up! We have nothing to do with you!"
The man laughed shamelessly. "Don't be so cold…"
Before he finished, a piercing scream erupted.
Vincent curled on the ground, clutching his stomach, rolling in agony. Cold sweat poured down his face.
Adrian retracted his leg and made a brief phone call.
He then grabbed the stunned Anna and marched toward the company.
Noah jogged over, gasping at the man writhing like a shrimp on the ground.
His boss had struck ruthlessly.
He’d kicked a living person without hesitation.
Another mess for them to clean up.
Anna was dragged forcibly, stumbling to keep up with his pace.
"Let go! Where are you taking me?"
Her foot twisted. Furious, she tried to shake off his grip.
He held on tighter.

The elevator doors closed.
