The woman froze.
She had thought he was gentle and refined, not the type to get angry.
But now, a violent aura radiated from him, as if he wanted to tear her apart.
She swallowed hard, forcing a casual tone. "You seemed to enjoy it last night too. Why act like a blushing virgin now?"
She swayed her hips and walked away.
Lucas Evans scanned the room, disgusted.

Lucas gritted his teeth, leaning against the headboard. "Miss Valentine, about that matter we discussed... I agree to cooperate."
Silence filled the line.
His heart sank.

Chloe's excited voice came through. "Really? That's wonderful!"
Lucas looked down at his disheveled state. He remembered Anna standing beside Adrian Sinclair.
His fingers clenched tightly.
He couldn't go on like this.
He wanted the girl he loved.
What was wrong with that?
"When do we start? The sooner the better. Now, if possible." He was impatient to hold her in his arms.
Chloe sounded puzzled.
Why had he changed his mind so suddenly after refusing so firmly?
But it didn't matter.
As long as he helped her achieve her goal, he was a useful pawn.
"Don't be impatient, Mr. Evans. This requires careful planning. I'll devise a strategy and inform you." Her voice was cheerful.
