Her gaze fixed on the name "Evelyn Roland" on her phone screen, eyes dark with malice.

But a deep male voice answered instead. "Mother."

In the living room, Julian frowned at the incoming call.
He pressed the speakerphone button.

Alexander was the first to react. "Second Brother, isn't this Evelyn's phone?"
Julian's gaze swept over everyone before settling on Isabella.
"I encountered a suspicious individual during my mission."
He paused. "It turned out to be Evelyn."
Sophia's voice crackled through the phone. "Julian? Why do you have Evelyn's phone?"
Edward abruptly stood. "Explain yourself, Julian!"
Julian placed the phone on the table.
"She's suspected of involvement in illegal drug trafficking."
Isabella covered her mouth, but her eyes gleamed with triumph.
"That's impossible! Evelyn would never—"
Alexander cut her off. "Second Brother, could there be a mistake?"
Expressionless, Julian pulled out another phone.
The screen displayed a photo of Evelyn detained in a private villa.
"She's currently at Sebastian Valdemar's residence."
Sophia's voice rose sharply. "What? The Valdemar family?"
Isabella stared at the photo, her lips curling involuntarily.
"I knew it..."
She muttered under her breath, but Edward snapped, "Isabella!"
Julian pocketed the phone, his tone icy.
"I'll get to the bottom of this."
The dining room fell into dead silence.
Only Sophia's ragged breathing echoed through the phone.
