Evelyn Roland abruptly stood from her seat, fingers tapping lightly on the desk.
Bianca Savigny bit her lower lip. "No one saw anything. It's like they vanished into thin air."
The only lead had snapped.
Bianca's face paled as she twisted her fingers together. "Master, it's all my fault—"
"Not your doing," Evelyn cut her off. "This was clearly deliberate."
Whoever was behind this was both ruthless and meticulous.
"Pull up the surveillance footage."
Evelyn's movement sent a gust of wind through the room, her tall frame radiating undeniable authority.
Five minutes later.
The air in the surveillance room turned glacial.
Evelyn narrowed her eyes, jaw tightening. She exhaled slowly, pressing her tongue against her cheek.
"Master..." Bianca's voice trembled.
"Just deleted footage." Evelyn suddenly smirked, fingers flying across the keyboard. "No big deal."
Bianca held her breath, not daring to blink.
"Done."
"Master!" Tears welled up instantly as Bianca lunged forward to hug her.
"What's with the waterworks?" Evelyn sidestepped the embrace.
"I'm just so happy!" Bianca wiped her tears, then blurted, "Master, I hate that I'm not a man."
Evelyn flicked her forehead. "Gender reassignment surgery exists."
"Master~" Bianca immediately cooed, leaning in.
Evelyn shook her head in exasperation.
Now relaxed, Bianca sighed dramatically. "Master, what man wouldn't fall for someone like you?"

"I wonder who could ever be worthy of you." Bianca batted her lashes. "Like Sebastian—"
"Focus on the case," Evelyn snapped coldly.
Bianca stuck out her tongue, then suddenly pointed at the screen. "Master, look! There they are!"
